In a significant move to enhance the financial technology landscape, Visa has unveiled the Visa Ready To Launch (VRTL) program, aimed at providing fintech and non-banking organizations with a more efficient means to issue payment products. NymCard, a pioneering BaaS player in the Middle East and Pakistan, has been selected as the inaugural partner to join this initiative, designed to revolutionize payment credentials issuance in the region through an adaptable plug-and-play platform.
The challenges faced by fintech and non-banking organizations are manifold when it comes to launching new payment programs. Navigating a fragmented card enablement landscape often necessitates collaboration with a multitude of players in the ecosystem, including Bank Identification Number (BIN) sponsors, issuer processors, and compliance partners for Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) requirements. This complexity can hinder swift market penetration.
To address these challenges, the VRTL program delivers a comprehensive end-to-end credential issuance capability, integrating product bundling, program management, and scalable technology options accessible through APIs. “The VRTL program equips developers with the essential tools required for Visa services to seamlessly integrate into their platforms,” said Salima Gutieva, Vice President and UAE Country Manager at Visa.
Visa’s approach of ‘One Contract, One Pricing, and One Integration’ simplifies the process significantly, ensuring reduced Go to Market (GTM) timelines—a crucial aspect for startups looking to establish their presence quickly. Gutieva further emphasized the importance of this partnership, stating, “Visa Ready To Launch is the first of its kind plug and play end-to-end issuance platform which effectively bundles products and services for FinTechs to swiftly and seamlessly launch a payment program.”
NymCard is enthusiastic about this collaboration, which is expected to enhance their service capabilities. Omar Onsi, CEO and Founder of NymCard, remarked, “We are excited to be able to use our expertise and our modern payments platform to scale up the onboarding of Visa’s Ready To Launch Program. And we are honored to be chosen as the first processor to do so.” This partnership marks a pivotal step toward democratizing fintech service offerings in a region that continues to thrive on innovative financial solutions.
The VRTL program is currently accessible in areas such as the Gulf Cooperation Council, North Africa, and the Levant, with plans for expansion into Central Europe and additional regions in the Middle East and Africa. NymCard leads this initiative, with further processors expected to join in the near future. This strategic alliance positions both Visa and NymCard on the cutting edge of fintech evolution, enabling quicker and more efficient launch capabilities for emerging payment solutions.
As the fintech landscape evolves, partnerships like this one can fundamentally shift the dynamics of how payment products are developed and deployed, signifying a promising direction for financial innovation in the MENA region and beyond.
